  49ers Season Preview By : Marco Rice The expectations are higher than ever for the 2023-2024 San Francisco 49ers who made the NFC championship game last year and have returned many of their key players.  The 49ers will be led by 7th round pick Brock Purdy out of Iowa state. Purdy took over for the injured Jimmy Garropolo during week 12 vs the Dolphins and has never looked back. Purdy went 8-1 as a starter last year before tearing his UCL during the NFC championship game versus the Eagles. Purdy is now healthy and ready to continue his success. The biggest news of the whole offseason for the 49ers was the contract of Nick Bosa, the 2023 DPOY and one the best players in football. After the historic season Bosa had, he wanted to get paid and get paid a lot. After many months of discussing his contract, the Niners finally gave in and made him the highest paid defensive player of all time. I played every sport you can think of from baseball to tennis, ultimate frisbee to basketball, skiing to football, and much more. Sports were everything for me and my family. Almost every weekend was filled with different sports games and long road trips.  This all changed one Tuesday afternoon during my junior year of high school when I tore my acl running a route in football. Everything in my life went on pause during this injury, and it was the most difficult thing I have ever gone through.  After my surgery, I went through a difficult time where I had to reinvent myself from an athlete, to a used to be athlete. I stopped working out and lost focus on my health and living with the correct lifestyle that I wanted to live with.
